Summer Research Lab 2014: At Your Service!

Are we hosting the Summer Research Lab this year at Illinois? You bet!  As in each of the previous forty years, we look forwardmain_quad.preview to seeing researchers of all disciplines and career stages here in Champaign-Urbana, to participate in workshops, consult with our famed Slavic Reference Service, and work in our fantastic library collections.  Have a project you want to start (or finish), but don’t have the money to go to Russia, East Europe, or the FSU?  Or have the money to go to abroad, but actually want to get some work done?  Join us!  Here’s the CFP: more info below the jump.

The Summer Research Laboratory (SRL) on Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia is open to all history scholars with research interests in the Russian, East European and Eurasian region, for eight weeks during the summer months (June 16 until August 8). The SRL provides scholars access to the resources of the University of Illinois Slavic collection within a flexible time frame where scholars have the opportunity to seek advice and research support from the librarians of the Slavic Reference Service (SRS).  Graduate students and junior scholars will also have opportunity to attend a specialized workshop on Scholarly and LitMain_Library_Urbana_Illinois_1518-1024x682erary Translation from June 16-20, 2014.

Travel and housing grants are available, please see our website for more details.  The application deadline for this year’s Summer Research Lab is April 15, 2014.  REEEC will continue to accept applications after the deadline, but housing and travel funds will not be guaranteed.
