Gagarin’s Matra “Djet,” a gift from the French people in 1965. He appreciated his Volga, but this is the car he really loved to drive. Brezhnev, a huge aficionado of cars, Soviet and foreign, no doubt was a tad jealous. The Djet is rumored today to be in a private collection in Lithuania.
